More than 400 plants believed to be marijuana were seized in the Tacilevu farming area in Naweni Village, Cakaudrove during a drug raid conducted yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu says the raid was conducted by the Savusavu Operations team as part of a mop-up exercise in known cultivation areas.

ACP Driu says investigations continue to ascertain the owner of the farm.

He says operations continue to apply pressure in various ways as the illicit drug trade is multi-faceted and the focus goes beyond just arresting those found in possession, which continue to be recorded in all five policing divisions.

Police are requesting anyone with information about drug-related activities to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
