Good news for more than 300 villagers of Buruwa Village in Nadi after a newly constructed foot crossing bridge was commissioned today.
While speaking at the commissioning, Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Dr. Mahendra Reddy says the crossing is significant as it links the communities and the school by providing improved accessibility for better education and safeguarding the well being of school students.
He says the foot crossing bridge construction program is to assist rural and outer island communities to meet their basic needs, improve living standards and quality of life towards becoming self-sufficient.
The project cost $5000.
This project is part of the “Hop-Skip & Jump” foot-crossing program which is fully funded by the government and is expected to assist 52 communities around Fiji.
