Close to 800 people attended the CWM Hospital clean-up campaign organised by the CWM Board of Visitors this morning.
More than 20 organisations took part in the campaign.
Joana Cane, who is the coordinator of the Powerpuff Kids Club from Kalekana Settlement in Lami says this is a good opportunity for the children in her club to experience what love is.
She says people always have different views towards youths of Kalekana settlement and with them participating in this initiative, will hopefully change the way people look at them now.
Joana Ravono, the Content Director and Crackfast Show host for FM96 says this initiative helps them to come out and give a helping hand.
She says they are looking forward to more initiatives like this in the future so they can interact more with the community.
Neptune Pacific Line Human Resources Manager Elenoa Dolodolotawake says her team was motivated to be a part of the clean up campaign in order to give back to the community and the hospital that has a lot of memories for many of us.
She says this is a great initiative as it also brings together different organisations to work in unity for a good cause.
Health Minister, Doctor Atonio Lalabalavu says CWM Hospital has memories that relate directly and indirectly to most of us to this day.
Doctor Lalabalavu made the comments while opening the clean-up campaign today.
Dr. Lalabalavu says a lot of things that happened at the CWM Hospital have affected and touched our lives and today is all about giving back.
He says today will be a day that we look back to from the future knowing that we have done a worthy cause for our current and future generations.
Dr. Lalabalavu acknowledged everyone that turned out in numbers today to support this worthy cause.
