More than 2,000 marijuana plants were uprooted from three farms in Kadavu this week.

The first raid was conducted at Lavidi Village where more than 300 marijuana plants were uprooted.

130 plants were uprooted in Vacalea.

On Friday, more than 1,500 marijuana plants were uprooted from a farm in Naikorokoro Village.

Police say the owners of the farms are yet to be located.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the momentum on the war on drugs will increase as we enter the festive season.

Khan says the focus is on green and white drugs with the latter being more complex as it takes time to gather and conduct the necessary intelligence-driven operations.
