More than 200 people gathered at Sukuna Park last night to take part in the India-Fiji Friendship Forum Diwali celebrations in collaboration with Radio Sargam and Navtarang.
People got to witness great entertainment such as songs and dance items and even got to win attractive prizes through fun competitions.
India-Fiji Friendship Forum President Yogesh Gupta says this was the first time the event was organized in partnership with Radio Sargam and Navtarang and it added further value to the program.
He says they usually have people from India coming to the event but this year due to the fan following of the two stations they had a lot of people from the Hindu community and even i-Taukei community which is what the event is about.
Gupta says as an organization they had always wanted the event not to be limited to only Hindus but to all the different cultures in the country.
The India-Fiji Friendship Forum is a non-profit charitable trust organization that supports and celebrates all major festivals in the country including Holi, Diwali, Eid, Easter and Christmas.
