More than 200 athletes from Samoa travelled to China to train for the Pacific Games

More than 200 athletes from Samoa travelled to China to train for the Pacific Games.

A team of 15 coaches helped Team Samoa who travelled to China for training in 11 sports.

The sports are basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, swimming, athletics, archery, boxing and weightlifting.

China’s Ambassador to Samoa  hosted a reception  for all athletes who trained in China for the Pacific Games and their Chinese coaches who were by their side throughout the competition.

A member of the Chinese team, Ms Wang Shan told Newsline Samoa that the reception will also be a chance to meet the athletes in person.
