Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s rover Sevuloni Mocenacagi has achieved a milestone in his rugby career as he is currently playing his 50th HSBC World 7s Series tournament in the Perth 7s this week.
The 33-year-old made his World Series debut in 2015 and since then, he has developed into a world-class player.
In 2021, the Nukuilau, Navosa man had his contract terminated by the Fiji Rugby Union for disciplinary reasons but has forced his way back into the team after vowing to make up for his uncalled actions that year.
Mocenacagi managed to get his spot back in the national 7s side last season after proving himself in a few local tournaments around Fiji.
The lanky rover is looking to help the Fiji men’s side secure their first-ever title in 16 tournaments this weekend and it will surely be a sweet celebration for him with his achievement.
Mocenacagi helped Fiji secure two wins against Samoa (14-7) and France (26-21) in their pool matches last night.
Meanwhile, Fiji will take on New Zealand at 5.25pm today in their final pool match. The Men’s cup quarter finals will start at 10.10pm tonight, the cup semi finals will kick off at 5.10pm tomorrow and the cup final will start at 9.53pm tomorrow.
