The Moana Pasifika’s competition debut has been put on hold again, with their match against the Chiefs this weekend being called off.
Stuff.co.nz reports New Zealand Rugby announced this morning that the round two Super Rugby Pacific fixture, which had been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon had been postponed due to player welfare concerns.
Following a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp which forced the cancellation of their second and final pre-season match against the Highlanders, along with the postponement of their competition opener against the Blues last Friday, Moana Pasifika were not deemed ready to return to action yet.
Their match against the Chiefs had already been pushed back two days, however the Super Rugby Pacific Medical Advisory Group met today to consider the team’s return to play plan and recommended the game be further pushed back.
