Wellington first-five Jackson Garden-Bachop will get another shot at Super Rugby Pacific next year after signing a deal with Moana Pasifika for 2025.
The Auckland-based Moana will be Garden-Bachop’s third Super Rugby club after previously playing for the Hurricanes and the Melbourne Rebels.
The NPC standout player will join high-profile recruit, All Blacks star Ardie Savea, at Moana next year.
He will compete with Tongan internationals William Havili and Patrick Pellegrini for a start in the No. 10 jersey.
Garden-Bachop made 31 appearances for the Hurricanes between 2018 and 2022, but he wasn’t retained despite starring for champions Wellington during the 2022 NPC.
The 29-year-old Māori All Black has spent the past two years playing for clubs in Japan and France.
He recently returned to New Zealand following the death of his brother Connor Garden-Bachop and has linked back up with Wellington, who remain unbeaten after the first five games of the new NPC season.
