Twenty three year old Queen Contestant Miss Viti Spinal Injury Association has been crowned the 2011 Miss Hibiscus Charity Queen this afternoon.
Shalene Prakash who works as Asia Development Sales Executive at William and Goslings raised $20,150, saying the money will go towards the Viti Spinal injury association.
Hundreds of people are already flocking to Albert Park for the 2011 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival as three hours remain for the Queen to be crowned.
Hibiscus Event Group Secretary, Aqela Cakobau said that for the past nine days on average over 200 thousand people have flocked to the event in a day and they expect about 300 thousand people to be at the grounds tonight.
As many flock in, Cakobau calls on parents to be vigilant.
So far, 22 children got lost at the festival however they were later re-united with their parents.

The Hibiscus Event Group is aiming to raising over $145,000 for charity this year.
Event Group Secretary, Aqela Cakobau said that this money will go directly to select charity groups.
She added apart from this they are looking at raising thousands more from stalls and sponsorship which will only be enough to cover the running of the Festival.
There are a total of 15 Queen Contestants this year and at 8.20pm the 2011 Hibiscus Queen will be crowned.

Meanwhile, Suva City Council Special Administrator Chandu Umaria urged more business houses to join hands for the festival.
