Miss Public Service Commission Nubaisha Dean will now represent Savusavu at the Miss Fiji Pageant following her being crowned as the Queen of the Savusavu Carnival.

Organiser of the event Pettine Simpson says the four-day carnival was a success as people from all walks of life came to attend the event.

Simpson says that buses were hired from villages to come to the carnival as there was a Miss Tikina also being represented at the event.

Meanwhile, Simpson says funds raised from the Savusavu Carnival will be used to repair the children’s park which got damaged in Cyclone Winston.

Simpson says that since there is no play area close by for children, they will be aiming to repair up the park to cater for this issue.

She says that although they did not have a lot of time to prepare for the event, they managed to raise a gross amount of $40,000 however they will be reconfirming this as they have to count the money.
