Miss Fiji pageant likely next year

A Miss Fiji pageant is highly likely to take place in 2012.

Six festival organisers around the country met in Nadi and now have formed a Board and Secretariat to oversee the running of the pageant.

Rules and Regulation were also drawn up for the proposed event whereby the structure will generally follow the Miss South Pacific Pageant.

The Miss Fiji Pageant will not be associated with a beauty pageant rather it will be one that celebrates Fijian women of multi cultural backgrounds with a strong sense of civic and cultural pride.

The date and venue of the Miss Fiji Pageant will be announced later this year.
