Being crowned as the Miss Continental Oceania 2024, the face of Beauty International Pageant in Taiwan is an absolute honour and is one of the proudest moments to represent the entire Oceania region.
Newly crowned Miss Continental Oceania 2024, Sunishma Singh highlighted this while responding to the fijivillage News.
She says this title is a platform for her to continue advocating for climate resilience, sustainable tourism and gender empowerment on a global scale.
She says it is a responsibility she does not take lightly and is looking forward to using this recognition to bring more attention to important causes within Fiji and the broader Pacific community.
The 28-year-old is a sustainability advocate and entrepreneur, holds a Bachelors degree in Geospatial Information Systems and Geography and a Postgraduate degree in Climate Change from the University of the South Pacific.
Singh further says she also runs a successful business, Singhs Herbal Hair Oil which is distributed in over 65 supermarkets across Fiji is also passionate about promoting sustainable practices, as her work has extended to advocacy roles in areas of environmental resilience and gender empowerment.
She says her journey has been filled with both challenges and successes as her early struggles were balancing her studies with work and she is determined to not only excel academically but also build a career rooted in sustainability and entrepreneurship.
Singh says transitioning from her role as a Resilience Officer for UN-Habitat to her current position at Tourism Fiji allowed her to align her passion with meaningful work.
She further says she was given the incredible opportunity to represent Fiji in the Miss Face of Beauty International pageant after being selected as Miss Face of Beauty Fiji and this selection came after her consistent involvement in sustainability advocacy, business and her passion for promoting Fijian culture on international platforms.
Miss Continental says that competing in Taiwan, she was surrounded by incredible women from across the world, each of whom brought unique perspectives and strengths.
She says attending the workshops, cultural exchanges and philanthropic events were deeply enriching, and she learned so much from both the organizers and her fellow participants.
