The Ministry of Public Works is looking at other crossings that need to be replaced using a similar structure of a truss bridge as the newly opened Toga bridge.
Minister for Public Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau highlighted this after the opening of the Toga bridge.
Ro Filipe says the cost of this bridge is about 20% of the cost of normal concrete bridges.
He says the Fiji Roads Authority has completed work on six bridges around the country that were part of the critical bridge replacement program.
The Bulu Bridge near Sigatoka, Korovou Bridge on Kings Road, Tavua, Matewale Bridge in Keyasi, Tavualevu Bridge in Tavua, Velovelo Bridge near Lautoka, Yaqara Bridge on Kings Road, Rakiraki, Wainawi Bridge on Kings Road, Nausori, Vuniyasi Bridge near Nadi and Waidamu Bridge in Nausori will be replaced.
FRA is currently working on the Waidalice Bridge on Kings Road in Tailevu which is expected to be completed next year.
