Ministry of Health receives Mobile Heart Screening device from Sai Prema Foundation

Dr. Waqainabete receives Mobile Heart Screening device from Sai Prema Foundation

The Ministry of Health has received a Mobile Heart Screening device from the Sai Prema Foundation which will further assist them in the early detection of heart complications in children.

Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says that the device will not be based at one particular area rather, it will be taken around the country.

Waqainabete also says that for the screening of children with Cardiac abnormalities, the Ministry has already got trained personnel in their three main hospitals in the country and the new device will improve the capabilities that they already have.

The Minister also acknowledged the Foundation for the opportunity given for some of the Ministry’s staff who will travel overseas for study and training in the field of children with heart diseases.

Cardiologist Dr. Marian Korai was the first to benefit from the programme and Waqainabete says that the opportunity is now open for others to be sent across for further training in the field of cardiologist.
