The Executive Director of the Fiji Council of Social Services, Vani Catanasiga is urging the Ministry of Economy to act with some urgency in relocating some of the villagers in Bua that were hit hard by TC Yasa.

Catanasiga says with the next cyclone season upon us, there has not been much progress in relocating people from Cogea Village in Wainunu who were completely overwhelmed during TC Yasa and their lives were at great risk.

Catanasiga says there is a bit of a delay from the Government in relation to funding.

She says Bainikea village relocation is also pending.

We contacted the Acting Permanent Secretary for Economy, Shiri Goundar last week for a response. He is yet to respond.
