Two computerized training sets, a gunsmith workshop and a maintenance workshop worth millions of dollars were handed over to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces today.
The weapons were handed over by Russian Ambassador to Fiji Vladimir Morozov.
Morozov says the two computerized training sets will only be used for in-house training.
It will help train grenade launcher shooters, firing arms and small arms.
Morozov says the gunsmith workshop will be utilized for carrying out assembling and disassembling procedures, adjusting and fitting in the course of repairing small arms in the field.
He adds the maintenance workshop is simply for fixing technical parts of weapons.
Meanwhile the two army trucks that transported the workshop containers have also been handed over to the Force for transport purposes.
A special handing over ceremony was held at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua earlier this afternoon.
The arms and ammunition was officially received by Acting Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.
