Actor Michael Keaton has opened up about reuniting with director Tim Burton for Beetlejuice 2.
Officially announced last month, Beetlejuice 2 is set to follow up on the classic 1988 film with Keaton reprising his role as the outrageous “bio-exorcist” from the Netherworld.
Other original cast members Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara are also reprising their respective roles from the first film, while Burton has also tapped the likes of Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe to round out the sequel’s cast.
During a recent Q&A held during the VIP double screening of 1989’s Batman and The Flash organized by Empire Magazine, Keaton spoke about his return for the Beetlejuice sequel and working with Burton again.
Calling the director “a rare breed” and “a true artist,” the actor expressed his enthusiasm for reteaming with Burton 35 years after the release of the first Beetlejuice film.
Beetlejuice 2 will officially mark the fifth film the pair has collaborated on, including Keaton’s two Batman films and 2019’s Dumbo.
