The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma is planning to build more schools around the country.
This was revealed in the Bose Ko Viti today when a motion was moved for the church to continue to build new schools if the need arises from the members of the congregation.
While speaking on the motion, the Church Secretary for Education, Reverend Waisake Ravatu says they will be beginning the construction of the Lautoka Methodist High School next week.
Reverend Ravatu says they are also in consultation to build schools in Savusavu, Labasa and Nabouwalu which he hopes to begin next year.
He says the Methodist Church currently have 31 schools under their management which includes 17 Primary Schools and 14 Secondary Schools.
Rev Ravatu also urged the members of the Bose Ko Viti that there is a dying need to look after their schools.
He says the schools should be founded by the principle of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma.
