The Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma is expected to raise about $400,000 to $500,000 in their Annual Conference and Bazaar that is currently being held at the Furnival Park in Toorak.
This was stated by the General Secretary of the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai at the opening of the Annual Conference and Bazaar.
Vunisuwai says the money raised from this will be used to cater for the Methodist Church’s budget for the year and also the running of the church and other organizations under the church’s management such as schools, home’s for children and others.
He says their total budget in one year is sometimes close to 3 million dollars and during their meeting, they will be discussing issues that relates with how to properly manage and serve the departments under the Methodist Church.
Vunisuwai stressed that one important issue they will be focusing on is how to better serve the more than 30 schools which is under the management of church so that students can be educated in a holistic way and become a better person in the future.
The Annual Conference and Bazaar Choir singing will continue from today and ends this Saturday while the Annual Conference meeting will begin next Monday.
