The Methodist Church in Fiji Social Service Committee Suva Circuit will be holding a food and stationery drive on the 26th of this month to assist those families who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman Akuila Tawake says they are expanding their assistance this month to those families outside of the church boundaries.
Tawake says in their first food drive, they assisted a total of 52 families.
He says from what they see happening around the country with some parents being laid off from work or their hours have been reduced, they are also holding a school stationery drive to assist these parents with their children’s school needs.
The Chairman says they will continue with this initiative throughout this year and hope to assist more people.
If people wish to assist the organisation in providing this assistance, they will be holding a food and stationary drive on the 26th of this month at the Centenary Church in Suva, or people can contact William Tora Levy on 9368916 or email wtlevy@yahoo.com.
