The Methodist Church in Fiji Suva Circuit organised a Christmas Gift Drive today at the Centenary Church in Suva to ensure families who are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic can have a festive Christmas.
The Chairman of the Social Service Committee for the Suva Circuit Akuila Tawake says the gift drive is to help families still facing hardships nowadays.
He says they want every Fijian family to have a festive Christmas this year since it was one of the most challenging years.
Tawake says the support towards their gift drive has been tremendous with church members and non-church members turning up with their gifts.
He adds the items from the gift drive will be delivered to families residing at HART homes and other families that require assistance.
The Social Service Committee Suva Circuit has been holding its food drive on the first Saturday of every month.
The organisation collects around 50 food and gift packs that all go to people facing hardships due to the pandemic.
