Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali
Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali says former Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa was criticized and made the front page of one of the news outlets for standing up for what she believed in.
While speaking during the launch of 16 days of Activism Against Violence Against Women, Ali says it is very important how the media and the leaders react when women speak out because that is how people will see it.
Ali also raised concerns about the misogynistic comments made by some prominent people and leaders in Parliament.
