Two men who stormed into a flat at Mead Road Housing in Nabua in January and assaulted three people who were drinking grog will spend 1 year and 9 months in prison.
Tevita Badogo and Eroni Bale were charged with 3 counts of act with intent to cause grievous harm.
Both men were sentenced to 3 years imprisonment however one year has been suspended.
3 months was further reduced due to time spent in remand.
While sentencing the two men, High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe says the level of violence in the crime was substantially high and the victims could not defend themselves because they were sleeping.
Justice Rajasinghe says it was a well calculated move because the two men waited for the family of the victims to leave the home.
However he adds both men have shown remorse by pleading guilty which has been taken into account.
