Tonight’s Super Rugby Australia match between the Melbourne Rebels and the Brumbies will be memorable for 30-year-old Matt Toomua who will be playing his 100th Super Rugby match.
Toomua began his Super Rugby career in 2013 for the Brumbies making his debut in the fly-half position against the Reds.
In 2016, he decided to leave the Brumbies taking up a contract for the Leicester Tigers in the Premiership Championship in England.
He returned in 2018, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with Rugby Australia and the Melbourne Rebels, making him immediately available for the Wallabies Bledisloe Cup campaign.
Toomua has been named to start in the fly-half position, teaming up with Ryan Louwrens at half-back.
Other top players included in the Rebels are Josh Kemeny, Frank Lomani, Reece Hodge, Andrew Kellaway, Dane Haylett-Petty and Marika Koroibete.
The Rebels will take on the Brumbies at 9.15 tonight.
