Manasa Mataele will make his long-awaited return to Super Rugby this week after being named on the Crusaders bench to take on the Chiefs.

Mataele was at the top of his game in 2019 before an injury sidelined him for a lengthy period.

His injury opened the door for Sevu Reece to make his Crusaders debut.

Reece will once again start on the wing with George Bower also named in the starting line up.

Other players such as Scott Barrett, Richie Mo'unga, George Bridge and Will Jordan have also been named in the run-on side.

The Crusaders will take on the Chiefs at 7.05pm Saturday while the Highlanders will face the Blues at 7.05pm tomorrow.
