Forgotten man Manasa Mataele has been included in the 37-men Canterbury squad for this year’s Mitre 10 Cup.
The wing who missed most of last year’s Super Rugby and this year’s Super Rugby Aotearoa scored two tries in his Canterbury debut against North Otago in last Friday’s Ranfurly Shield defence.
Mataele who is contracted to the Crusaders through next year is one of 25 players in the squad with Super Rugby experience.
Canterbury’s squad also boasts nine current or past All Blacks including Richie Mo’unga, Codie Taylor, George Bridge, Sam Whitelock, Joe Moody and Braydon Ennor.
