Mata Dance Crew to have 2 dance groups competing in 2 different categories in the WHHDC

The Mata Dance Crew who will be taking part in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Arizona in USA next month will have two dance groups competing in two different categories.

The Mata Dance Crew will compete in the Mega Crew Division which is the open grade while Kawa Dance Crew will be competing in the Varsity Division where the age limit is between 13-18 years.

One of the dancers is Ta’ani Tevita who is a Year 13 student at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School.

The 18-year-old says he has to balance his schoolwork and rehearsals and has even stayed up late at night sometimes to do his schoolwork.

He also is encouraging the youths to follow what they love the most.

Tevita says especially when the family support is involved great things will come along the way as it has worked out for him.
