It has been an eventful few days in the NSW Blues Origin camp where they were dealt with a major blow after star outside back Latrell Mitchell was withdrawn from the squad due to injury last week, and now the Queensland Maroon has responded.
The NSW Blues was given a bit of relief with prop Payne Haas going through Sunday’s session unscathed and looking good to line up for the Blues tonight.
Now the Maroons have made some positional changes to their side in reaction to the ruling out of Mitchell.
Queensland centres Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Val Holmes have swapped positions in the wake of Latrell Mitchell’s scratching.
Tabuai-Fidow was initially set to play on the right and mark up on Mitchell but will now switch to the left to cover Tom Trbojevic.
It means Holmes will be covering Mitchell’s replacement, Stephen Crichton.
Game 1 of the State of Origin 2023 between the Blues and the Maroons will kick off at 10.05pm tonight.
