Marist scores 3 tries to edge Grammar 19-12 in U16 Southern Zone final

Marist Brothers High School are the winners of the U16 Vodafone Southern Zone Secondary School Rugby Competition after defeating Suva Grammar School 19-12.

Marist scored 3 tries from Semi Wakilau, Saimoni Uluimoala and Aminiasi Nagado, while fullback Ryan Moko converted two of the three tries.

It was also a proud moment for Moko as he was awarded the best player of the match award.

Ratu Aloveti Mataitoga and Benjamin Moce scored a try each for Grammar.

Meanwhile, MGM is currently leading Marist 12-3 in the Southern Zone U17 final.

In the other results, Grammar won against Marist 15-12 in the U14 final, Marist defeated Grammar 17-5 in the U15 final and Lomary lost to Naitasiri 20-0 in the Raluve U16 final.

In the playoff results, Nasinu U14 defeated CMF 10-3, Nasinu U15 beat Gospel 17-0, Nasinu defeated Dudley U16 17-10 and the Grammar U17 beat Nasinu 17-10.

All finals will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium and all the elimination rounds will be held at the Buckhurst ground.

The Eastern Zone Dean's final admission is $10 for the Grandstand, $7 for the Concrete stand and $5 for the Embankment.
