Marist Brothers High School has won the boys division of the Coca-Cola Games this year while Jasper Williams High School will take the girls division title back to Lautoka for yet another year.
According to the Fijivillage Medal Tally, Marist finishes off the games with 17 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze.
Marist manager Sikeli Kalouniviti said the hard work of the Marist athletes has paid off this year.
Marist last won the boys division in 2014.
Defending boys division champion, Natabua finishes in second place with 12 gold, 12 silver and 4 bronze while RKS is in third place with 6 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze.
QVS is in fourth place with 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze.
Meanwhile it was a close contest in the girls division.
Jasper finishes off with 15 gold, 19 silver and 8 bronze to claim the girls division title.
ACS which is now coached by former Jasper coach Antonio Raboiliku, made a strong comeback this year and finished off in second place with 15 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze.
The difference in silver medals means Jasper takes the title back to Lautoka.
Jasper has been winning the title since 2013.
Jasper team manager Melisio Camaitoga said it was a tough year for Jasper but they are happy that they will take the girls division title back to Lautoka.
Suva Grammar finished in third place in the girls division with 4 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze.
Meanwhile, Ilaitia Waqairadovu from QVS and Niumaia Raiwasavu from Delana Methodist both won the title of Best Male Athletes in the Senior grade.
They won 2 gold medals each.
Alaiwalu Raiyawa from ACS walked away with the Best Female Athlete award in the Senior as she won 3 gold medals.
Raiyawa received $500 worth of sporting equipment while the best two male athletes will share the prize of $500 worth of sporting equipment.
Alaiwalu Raiyawa and Ilaitia Waqairadovu who won the Blue Ribbon events also received Fiji Airways return tickets to either Australia or New Zealand.
Looking at yesteray’s events:
Marist won 3 gold medals in the 4x100 metres events.
The Marist Intermediate boys set a new record of 42.22 seconds.
The previous record was set by Natabua High School with a time of 42.50 seconds in 2015.
Marist also took gold medals in the Sub Junior and Senior 4x100 metres relay finals.
QVS took out the gold medal in the 4x100 Junior boys relay, RSMS settled for the silver medal while Marist took the bronze medal.
In the girls 4x100 metres event, ACS snatched 2 gold medals and also set a new record in the 4x100 metres Intermediate girls relay with 48.13 seconds.
The previous record was set by ACS with a time of 48.80 seconds in 2012.
ACS also won the gold medal in the 4x100 metres senior relay.
Jasper won gold in the Sub Junior and Junior Girls 4x100 metres relay finals.
RKS won 3 gold medals in the 4x400 metres relay finals.
RKS took the gold medal in the Sub Junior, Intermediate and Senior boys 4x400 metres.
QVS took out the gold medal in the Junior boys 4x400 metres relay.
ACS made a clean sweep in the 4x400 metres finals.
They took out the gold in the Sub Junior, Junior, Intermediate and Senior girls relays.
Marist took 3 gold medals in the 200 metres finals.
In the 200 metres Sub Junior Boys, Lasarusa Senibale of Marist won the gold medal and also set a new record of 23.59 seconds.
The previous record was set by James Cox of Natabua with a time of 23.61 seconds in 2014.
Joseva Tabakaucoro of Marist won the gold medal in the 200 metres Junior boys with a new record of 22.61 seconds.
The previous record was set by Apolosi Koroi of QVS with a time of 22.64 seconds in 2014.
In the 200 metres Intermediate boys, Shane Tuvusa of Marist won the gold medal, Keasi Naidroka also from Marist took the silver medal while Apolosi Koroi of QVS settled for the bronze medal.
Ilaitia Waqa of QVS who won the 100 metres Senior Boys final last night, won gold in the Senior Boys 200 metres final today.
Sailosi Tubuilagi of RKS took the silver medal while Albert Miller Junior of Marist settled for the bronze medal.
ACS won three gold medals in the 200 metres.
Serenia Ragatu of ACS won the gold medal in the Junior girls 200 metres while Makerata Naulu of ACS took the gold medal in the 200 meters Intermediate girls.
Alaiwalu Rayawa of ACS won the gold medal in the Senior Girls 200 metres event.
Carol Masi of Jasper took the gold medal in the Sub Junior girls 200 metres.
Maximus Lestro of Marist won the Junior Boys Discus while Poasa Satoqi took gold in the Senior Boys High Jump.
Lestro said he just came out with extreme power to win gold this morning.
Natabua’s Belasio Waqadau won the first gold medal for his school on the final day of competition in the Senior Boys Triple Jump.
Waqadau has also set a new record of 14.58 metres.
The previous record of 14.42 metres was held by Marist’s Eugene Vollmer.
Elena Caucau of Napuka Secondary in Savusavu broke the Intermediate Girls Javelin record in the last hour.
She had a record throw of 42.31 metres.
14-year-old Maia Ramsden of International School Suva won her second gold medal in the 800 metres Sub Junior Girls event in the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Ramsden also set a new record of 2 minutes and 21 seconds.
The previous record of 2 minutes 24 seconds was held by Maraia Senimasi of Wainimala Junior Secondary in 2004.
Ramsden won gold in the 1,500 metres final yesterday.
Joel Naicker of Natabua took the gold medal in the 800 metres Sub Junior Boys, Viliame Waqaninamedro of Saqani Junior Secondary School took the silver medal while Michael Hennings of Marist settled for the bronze medal.
Meliki Ganilau of Suva Grammar won the gold in the 800 metres Junior Girls.
Saint Joseph’s Secondary School’s Tarairi Erasito also won gold in the Junior girls shot put.
Looking at the 3,000 metres finals this morning:
Ballantine Memorial School’s Meki Maria took out the gold medal in the 3,000 metres girls open event.
Jasper’s Mereseini Naidau took the silver medal while Litia Tuinuve of Ratu Luke Memorial from Bua took bronze.
Amevasu Turner of Ratu Luke Memorial won gold in the Open Boys 3,000 metres final, Sairusi Kalouniviti of Immaculate Conception College from Bua took the silver medal while Viliame Salusalu will take home the bronze medal.
