The 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s has been confirmed for the 24th to the 26th of September 2020 after its relaunch today.

Marist Rugby Club President and Chairman of the organising committee Lawrence Tikaram says 33 out of the 48 men’s teams have confirmed their participation with one spot available in the women’s competition.

Defending champions Police have confirmed 2 teams, while the big names like Army, Ratu Filise and Tabadamu have also booked their spots for the tournament.

The Marist 7s will be played at the ANZ Stadium with a seating capacity of only 2,000 spectators permitted in the grandstand and 6,000 on the ground due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The draws for the competition are expected to be finalised at the end of August.

The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s was the first sporting event to be cancelled in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
