The Maori All Blacks arrived in the country last night and they are ready to take the field this Saturday.
The team performed the ‘haka’ at the Nadi International Airport before they were accorded a traditional welcome ceremony.
Meanwhile, Flying Fijians flyhalf Ben Volavola says playing the Maori All Blacks is a great start to their campaign.
Volavola who now plays for Racing 92 in the Top 14 competition in France says he has really enjoyed watching local players pushing for starting positions in the team and that has helped improve the team’s collective strength.
He plays alongside Leone Nakarawa, Virimi Vakatawa and Joe Rokocoko at Racing 92.
The Flying Fijians camp has tested the team’s commitment, fitness and endurance and Volavola says he is grateful for the different characters in the team that make those funny moments happen during a hard day or where something gets tense.
The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians play the Maori All Blacks at 3pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium
