Eight-time world champion Manny ‘Pac Man’ Pacquiao has accepted the challenge to face Australian veteran and former middleweight champion Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine in an exhibition bout in Port Moresby in June.

Papua New Guinea Professional Boxing Control Board chairman Bernard Fong says the eyes of the world will be there, especially the media.

Fong says the bout would not only be a major event in the country and receive global coverage and attention given Pacquiao’s stature in the sport and popularity.

He says that it was thrown around the possibility of Mundine fighting Pacquiao, this is a world event.

He adds that everybody knows Pacquiao, an eight-time world champion, that’s eight different divisions, and he has accepted.

The historic exhibition bout will be staged at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
