Mana SDA Primary School Head Teacher Malakai Turagakula is thankful that there was no loss of life when Category 3 Tropical Cyclone Mal passed the Yasawa group.
While speaking to fijivillage News from Yarolevu Village on Mana Island, Turagakula says the villagers had prepared well for the cyclone.
He says there was no infrastructural damage on the island as their water pump is still running, however, the only damage was to their farms.
Turagakula says they had told the villagers on Sunday that the school would be used as an evacuation centre and anyone could use it if they felt unsafe.
He adds everyone has started cleaning up, but they are still aware that this system is still in the group.
