A man who pleaded guilty to stealing two chickens in Tavua has been given a partially suspended sentence.
Bobby Prasad has been sentenced to 3 months and 13 days imprisonment of which he will spend 2 months in prison while the remaining 1 month and 13 days has been suspended for two years.
It was heard in court that on the 22nd of March this year, at 4am, the victim was awakened by his dogs barking and his attention was drawn to his chicken shed where he saw Prasad holding 2 chickens.
It was also heard in court that the victim yelled out at Prasad but Prasad left.
The Magistrate says Prasad has multiple convictions for larceny of birds as early as 1999.
