Man to be sentenced next Thursday for raping cousin

A 26-year-old man guilty of raping his cousin in Suva in 2020 will be sentenced next Thursday by High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.

The incident happened when the woman was staying at the man’s house to attend a tertiary institution.

Defence lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo and the prosecutor submitted their sentencing submissions in court today.

Justice Goundar has extended the man’s bail.
