A man has raised concerns after he was robbed yesterday morning while waiting to get his passport outside the Fiji Immigration Department in Suva.
Rohitendra Singh says he was waiting for his number to be called in the carpark outside when a man he thought was calling him grabbed his gold chain worth more than $2,000 from behind and ran off towards the bus stand.
Singh says he was in shock and did not know how to react as it happened so quickly.
He adds this should not have happened to him or anyone.
The man says the waiting area is not secured with enough security officers and there are no cameras.
Singh is urging the Fiji Immigration Department to improve security so things like this do not happen in the future.
He has filed a report at the Totogo Police Station.
Police have yet to respond to our questions.
