Quick action by members of a task force team resulted in the arrest of a man alleged to be involved in an aggravated robbery case last night.
Police say a report was received from a 29 year old woman who was allegedly approached by an unknown person at around 9pm while she was trying to get into her car along Renwick Road in Suva.
Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim’s handbag before fleeing the scene.
ACP Khan says a team was deployed before 10pm and were able to recover the stolen items at the suspect’s home.
He says the team pursued the suspect whereby he was arrested after 1am and was taken into custody at the Totogo Police Station where he remains in custody.
