Man in custody following the death of a 43-year-man from Vugalei, Lami

A man is in police custody following the death of a 43-year-old man who was found lying motionless on the road along Vugalei Cemetery in Lami on Sunday morning.

Police say the post-mortem will be conducted later today.

Divisional Police Commander South, SSP Wate Vocevoce, say the man is believed to have been drinking with his friends, then left the group and crossed the road.

He says the man was later discovered lying motionless on the road.

He was rushed to CWM Hospital but was pronounced dead by the Doctor on call.

SSP Vocevoce says the body is now being kept at the CWM Hospital mortuary.
