A Suva man was fined $450 for driving under the influence of liquor by the Suva magistrate’s court yesterday afternoon.
Tausa Amoy had pleaded guilty to the charge and magistrate Alofa Seruvatu while passing her sentence said he endangered his life as well as pedestrians and other road users.
She also suspended his drivers licence for 3 months and ordered him to deposit his drivers licence in the Navua magistrate court by midday today.
She highlighted that maximum fine for driving under the influence of liquor is $2000 or two years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, another driver Navinesh Singh was fined $300 for careless driving yesterday.
