Police are investigating claims a man was allegedly assaulted by police officers during a confrontation in Nausori Town on Saturday.
The matter was reported at the Nausori Police Station.
Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has directed the Director of Internal Affairs to send a team from the Police Headquarters to conduct the investigations.
He says if the allegations are proven to be true, those responsible will be charged and produced in court of law.
