Man charged with a count of sacrilege for allegedly breaking into Markaz Mosque remanded in custody

A 20-year-old man charged with one count of sacrilege for allegedly breaking into the Markaz Mosque in Lakena on Tuesday morning has been remanded in custody by the Nausori Magistrates Court.
Anare Turaga has pleaded guilty to a count of sacrilege and remanded in custody.
Turaga allegedly broke into the mosque in the process damaging louvre blades and searched the premises however he could not find anything to steal.
Prosecutor, Shelveen Deo Sharma advised the court that they will lay another charge on Turaga as he has breached conditions of his suspended sentence.
The case has been adjourned to the 9th of next month.
