A 24 year old farmer will be produced in the Sigatoka Magistrates Court tomorrow for his alleged involvement in the murder of an elderly couple in Lawai, Sigatoka last year.
Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says Sesha Reddy and Mirdu Lata were found dead in their home on the 2nd of February last year.
He says the first responding team were also able to establish that some items were missing from their residence.
Qiliho says investigators were able to trace the digital footprints of the stolen mobile phone which resulted in questioning of approximately 30 people after the phone had been transferred to a couple of people along the way.
He further says video recording interviews and video reconstructions of alleged incidents were conducted to ensure proper transparency and accountability.
The Commissioner says medical checks were also conducted on the suspect before the commencement of the interview process.
He adds the investigation file was forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and was returned recently with the charges to be sanctioned.
