An investigation is currently underway following allegations that a man indecently assaulted a woman at the Nausori Health Centre this morning.
The alleged victim was admitted at the hospital at the time of the incident.
Her father has told fijivillage that the suspect allegedly started touching his daughter when she was asleep.
He says his daughter then woke up and started screaming which resulted in hospital staff catching the man.
Her father has also raised concerns regarding the security at the Centre and claims they were sleeping at the time of the incident.
When questioned today, Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says he has been briefed about the alleged incident and adds the security officers were helping out in the Emergency Department.
Dr Waqainabete says health centres can get busy especially after working hours and they are concerned about the allegations.
He adds the security services are outsourced but they have spoken to them.
Police have also confirmed that they have received a report and their investigations continue.
