A man claims he was allegedly attacked and robbed today by three men who had a cane knife with them in Wainibuka, Tailevu while he was travelling from Tavua to Suva in his vehicle.

Biswa Nand says he slowed his vehicle in Wainibuka as bamboo was across the road.

He says three young men who had been allegedly hiding in a nearby bush then came forward and threatened him.

Nand says a man who allegedly had a cane knife told him to hand over whatever he had.

He says he gave him whatever money he had in his vehicle.

The man says at this time another vehicle allegedly slowed down behind his vehicle which resulted in the three men to be distracted long enough for him to escape.

Nand says his wife and their 17-year-old son were with him in the vehicle.

He says he has filed a report with Police.

We have sent questions to Police and are waiting for their response.
