High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar has acquitted a man who was charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The alleged incidents happened in a village on Koro Island.
While giving his judgement, Justice Goundar says the evidence of the complainant that the accused committed the alleged sexual acts using force and without her consent is not consistent with the complaint she made to her aunt and mother.
He says when the accused gave evidence, the accused struck him as an honest and reliable witness adding his account is consistent with the account he gave to police under caution.
Justice Goundar says he believes the evidence that the accused was having a secret intimate relationship with the complainant.
