Heavyweight contender Arslanbek Makhmudov has moved another step closer to a potential world title shot with a convincing unanimous decision victory over Carlos Takam in Montreal.
The 33-year-old, nicknamed 'Lion', continued his unbeaten record after being awarded the decision by scores of 97-91 and 96-92 twice.
Makhmudov failed to stop an opponent for the first time in his professional career, though, as Takam dug deep to extend the contest despite being knocked down twice.
Meanwhile, the main bout will feature Canelo Alvarez taking on Gennadiy Golovkin also known as Triple G today.
