Last year 61% of all visitors to the Fiji Museum were international visitors.
This was highlighted by the Director of the Fiji Museum, Sipiriano Nemani while speaking during the Evolution of the Fiji Fashion Show held at the Fiji Museum on Saturday.
Nemani says they need a fully-fledged facility so that people can learn and enjoy Fiji’s culture.
He adds that Fiji has a rich tapestry that has no measurable value.
Nemani says the museum has valuable cultural resource that can sustain the nation.
Meanwhile, the French Ambassador to Fiji, Jean Francois-Fitou says they will support the Fiji Museum.
He says Fiji has culture from even before the 17th Century adding that life is a journey and culture matters.
The money raised from the event will go towards the Fiji Museum.
