The majority shareholder of Fiji Television Limited, Fijian Holdings Limited said they proposed in the board meeting earlier this week that they want a FHL staff member to head Fiji TV.
FHL Chief Executive Officer, Nouzab Fareed said based on this, the board agreed to appoint Tevita Gonelevu as the CEO of Fiji TV.
Gonelevu is the current General Manager Investment and Company Secretary of Fijian Holdings Limited.
Former Fiji TV CEO, Tarun Patel is now an adviser to the board and his new position is Chief Strategy Officer.
Fareed also confirmed that the positions of all heads of departments will also be advertised as the board is setting a new organization structure.
FHL bought the Yasana Holdings Limited shares in Fiji TV for $25 million earlier this year.
With the purchase of the shares, FHL now owns 58% of Fiji TV.
